Robotis OP-2 Humanoid Robot Platform

Robotis Op-2 is a humanoid robot platform that can be shown as an updated/improved version of the humanoid robot known as Robotis OP (Darwin-Op) to produce higher processing power and faster movements. Although the robot is called OP-2, it is also known as "Darwin". ROBOTIS OP2 is equipped with advanced computing power, sophisticated sensors, a certain level of payload-carrying ability and dynamic movement capability for use in research and development and training activities. With its software and hardware components, Op 2 will be a good choice for artificial intelligence applications and STEM education!

Robotis OP-2 joints are controlled by Dynamixel MX-28T intelligent servo motors (actuators), of which there are 20 on the robot. Dynamixel-bus with 1Mbps bandwidth provides control of the joints and allows Robotis OP-2 to exhibit flexible movement capability at a high degree of freedom. In addition, the 1800mAh LiPo battery pack keeps the robot running for 30 minutes.

The OP-2 has some advantages over the previous version, the Robotis DArwin. The most notable of these is the robot's main processor, which has been replaced by a dual-core processor. In addition, in OP-2 the RAM and SSD memory have been modified to be user replaceable. The controller has also been downsized from the CM730 to the CM740. OP-2 is available in white color compared to the previous version. These differences are summarized in the table below:
