  • Robotis Bioloid STEM - II  (Expansion) Robot Education Set

Introducing children to robotics for education based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) principles is the right way to go, but putting together the right software, hardware and curriculum can be daunting. This is where Robotis' Bioloid STEM Expansion Robot Education Kit comes to the fore! Bioloid STEM Expansion Robot Education Kit is an all-around project and coding kit that is sufficient for a holistic learning experience. The Bioloid STEM Expansion Kit is a continuation of the STEM Standard Kit. Parts can be easily disassembled and assembled. It is suitable for robotic coding education, maker education, schools and workshops working with DIY sets.

Bioloid STEM Standard has modular hardware; it includes parts for building 9 different concept robots. These robots are easily programmed with the CM-530 Robotis controller. The RoboPlus software allows you to upload pre-programmed behaviours to your robots, and you can also code your own behaviours and upload them to the robot (see video below).

What distinguishes this set from other training sets is the curriculum guide. This guide is not just a simple assembly kit, it is a comprehensive guide that covers 31 weeks and consists of 2 workbooks. The STEM kit divides each unit into three phases: Foundation Phase, Application Phase and Practicalization Phase.

o Foundation Phase: will introduce students to different robots and robotic features to understand analogies, pictures and examples. The basic phase will end with the students putting the robot together with a clear assembly guide.

o Application Phase: will introduce students to programming by explaining step by step pre-written programming examples. This phase will also explain the math that goes into robot programming.

o Practical Phase: will give students a chance to solve programming problems on their own and learn about advanced robotics concepts. At the end of each chapter, students will have a fully functional robot that runs the custom code they wrote!
